Survivor
Oooooooh, you thought I was going to write a serious entry on surviving some horrible chapter in my life....NOPE!
This is for those of you who are driving out to The Swings, it's dark, full moon, glass of wine (previously imbibed), listening to XM channel 80 and you find yourself singing out loud to:
How can I convince you
what you see is real
Who am I to blame you for doubting what you feel
I was always reachin, you were just a girl I knew
I took for granted the friend I have in you
i was living for a dream,
Loving for a moment
Taking on the world,
That was just my style
Now I look into your eyes
I can see forever,
The search is over
You were with me all the while
Can we last forever, will we fall apart
At times its so confusing, these questions of the heart
You followed me through changes, and patiently you'd wait
Till I came to my senses, through some miracle of fate
Now the miles stretch out behind me loves, that I have lost
Broken hearts lie victims of the game
Then good luck it finally stuck like lightning from the blue
Every highway leading me back to you
Now at last I hold you, now all is said and done
The search has come full circle, our destinies are one
So if you ever loved me show me that you give a damn
Youll know for certain the man I really am
AND YOU KNOW EVERY SINGLE WORD!

And here I sit in my suburban backyard in Moronden blowing smoke and listening to Judy Garland sing:
The Trolley Song...
Buzz, buzz, buzz went the buzzer
Plop, plop, plop went the wheels
Stop, stop, stop went my heartstrings
As he started to leave I took hold of his sleeve with my hand
And as if it were planned he stay on with me
And it was grand just to stand with his hand holding mine
To the end of the line
Buddy Stone
So glad to see you back in the blog-o-sphere. One should never, ever drive to that sort of music, as you may be overcome with meloncholy and run off the road.
